Established in 2008, AGI delivers design-build projects predominantly in Southwest Detroit. As a Detroit based general contractor we believe that local contractors should have opportunities to contribute to Detroit’s ‘Built Environment Ecosystem’, we promote sustainability through green building practices and equitable neighborhood engagement. We take pride being from the city, growing our business here before the revitalization boom. AGI’s business model stems from personal experiences and value business mentoring from Detroit leaders, paving the way for us to build for the next generation.
AGI has been resilient growing through business cycles starting in investments, property management, residential to a full construction project management firm through a hostile economy that has given them a unique approach that goes beyond brick and mortar building. We have grown as a trusted contractor and built strong personal relationships with our clients, community partners, municipal departments, residents, and local stakeholders to encourage a transparent and inclusive design process.

Luis Ali

Master Sergeant Luis Ali is a native Detroiter and owner of AGI Construction. Ali joined the Air Force in 1995 and served in the United States Air Force for 18 years as a Command and Control Emergency Actions Specialist. Luis is a licensed electrician by trade and has over twenty years in the construction industry and project managing.
Luis is a 23 year veteran and still currently serves with the Ohio Air National Guard with the 200th Rapid Engineering Deploy-able Heavy Operational Readiness Squadron Engineer (RED-HORSE), a mobile civil engineer response force to support contingency and special operations worldwide.
Tanya Saldivar-Ali

Tanya Saldivar-Ali is native Southwest Detroiter and is the Director of Business Development.Tanya has over twenty years experience as a credible and strong Detroit community leader that has advocated for inclusiveness, employment, quality education and access to skilled trades.
Her professional skill set varies from corporate administration and fund development within a non profit setting, corporate banking and manufacturing sectors. Tanya has been involved from the inception of AGI handling the purchase of real estate, property management, certifications, seeking growth opportunities within various construction industries. Her passion is re build Detroit with emphasis on place-making through a inclusive design process.
